Terms of Use
Last updated: [DATE]
These terms apply to your use of PDFCentral, provided by [COMPANY NAME], [ADDRESS] ("we", "us"). By using PDFCentral you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
PDFCentral provides free tools for working with PDF files. Most tools run in your browser; the Convert tool uses a third-party provider. How files are handled is described in our Privacy Policy. We may change, suspend or withdraw any tool at any time.
2. Acceptable use
You must not use PDFCentral to:
- process, create or share content that is unlawful, including content that infringes copyright or other rights, is defamatory, or exploits children;
- remove passwords or protections from documents you are not authorised to access;
- disrupt, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, including by automated bulk use of the Convert tool;
- break any law of Kenya or of the place where you are.
You are responsible for having the right to use any document you process.
3. No warranty on output
PDFCentral is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best, but we do not guarantee that any output will be accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose. In particular:
- OCR (text recognition) can misread characters, numbers and layouts.
- Conversion to Word, Excel or PowerPoint may change formatting, fonts, tables or page breaks.
- Compression turns pages into images and reduces quality.
Always check the result before relying on it.
4. Your responsibilities
- Verify redactions. Before sharing a redacted document, open it and confirm that all sensitive information has been removed, including in searchable text and metadata.
- Keep backups. Keep a copy of your original files. We do not store your documents and cannot recover them.
- Remember passwords. We cannot recover or remove a password you have forgotten.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Kenya, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits, business or reputation, arising from your use of PDFCentral or from any output it produces. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to [AMOUNT, e.g. KES 1,000]. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2012 that cannot lawfully be limited.
6. Intellectual property
You keep all rights in your documents. The PDFCentral name, design and software belong to [COMPANY NAME] or its licensors.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
